Super Shockmaster vs Mike Thor WCW Main Event 01-16-1994
Where do I even start with this?
If you're reading this blog, I have a feeling like already know about The Shockmaster, but in case you don't lets review the tale . One fateful evening in WCW, Sting and Davey Boy Smith hyped up that they were going to debut their new tag partner for a big six-man tag match against Harlem Heat and Sid Vicious. He was going to shock the world because he was The Shockmaster. Pyro went off and a man emerged from behind a wall, well not so much as emerged and tripped. In the chaos, his mask rolled about as far a way as possible and he scrambled for it before standing up and cutting a prerecorded promo. It took just the few seconds for everyone to realize The Shockmaster was actually Fred Ottman aka Tugboat aka Typhoon. The Shockmaster gimmick was dead on arrival. WCW did the only thing they could, which is pivot Shockmaster into a loveable goofy clumsy idiot. It was a far cry from the master of destruction they had planned, and you have to wonder what the Shockmaster plans were if he never had such an awful debut.
Well obviously that stuck in someone's craw, because I introduce to you The Super Shockmaster. The Monsoon Classic YouTube channel is an absolute godsend to this project. I am trying my best to spread out the videos and not use just his, but it's really hard when he finds gems like this. I had no idea this existed, but evidently in storyline, The Shockmaster was frustrated with his WCW career and decided to bring in his nephew and his best friend, The Super Shockmaster. The Super Shockmaster thanked the Shockmaster, but let people know The Super Shockmaster is going to wrestle differently than The Shockmaster.

The Super Shockmaster is huge and his gear looks odd. It looks like they took Sean Waltman's designs and so I started Calling Super Shockmaster the 1-2-3-4 Kid. They're playing up that Super Shockmaster and The Shockmaster are two different people, OR ARE THEY! Super Shockmaster does a lot of fat guy offense, which as you all know I hate. Knee lifts, rope chokes, stepping on the guy. Ok the third one I kind of like but not in a Tony Atlas way. Tony Schiavone, god bless his heart trying to make this work, is incensed that The Super Shockmaster is cheating. The Shockmaster doesn't cheat, but Super Shockmaster sure does cheat which is shocking. Super Shockmaster's finisher is a Claw hold into a chokeslam into a clawhold, which is actually kind of rad. It's the only thing rad about it. Stay tuned after the match if you want to hear The Super Shockmaster talk.
